pulling the design together/one room challenge week 3

Welcome friends! It’s so hard to believe we are at the halfway point of the ORC already!! This week was all about pulling things together. Those little details like rugs, blinds and pillows that give a room texture (my favorite) and help to make it feel finished. One of the details I was riding the struggle bus over was a headboard. I really wanted something unique and that we could possibly DIY. After much online searching I stumbled across a Pinterest image that had a piece of wood art that I fell in love with and knew that with modifications it would be a perfect headboard. We still are tweaking it a bit but here is a teaser (I’ll finish a tutorial next week).

I can’t wait to see the headboard! Looks amazing.

  2. Susie says:

Wow. That headboard is going to be amazing! Thanks for the peek… can’t wait to see more. Love both of the paint colors! I’m torn. 🙂 ~~ Susie from The Chelsea Project

      Thanks Susie,

The way things are going I’ll make a snap decision standing at the counter at Sherwin Williams. 😉

  3. That wood headboard is going to ROCK! I can’t wait to see it! And I’m partial to grays, but I love the blue choice!

  4. Deneen says:

Looking forward to seeing the whole headboard 🙂 I vote for the blue, despite the fact that my bedroom is FULL OF GREY.

  5. Ola says:

Boy such a difficult choice in paint colors. Ironically I have both of those swatches in my home right now! I used the SW peppercorn to paint stripes on one of my walls and it actually has a blue tint to it. So if you’re torn I’d go with that one. But the navy is soooo nice too. Hmmm I guess I wasn’t much help was I? LOL!

    • Libbie Burling says:

      Ola,

That is very helpful. It’s looking a bit blue in the space too. I’ve never been so on the fence. My hubby told me today that If I don’t chose tomorrow he will for me! 🙂

  6. Kylie Briggs says:

The headboard looks like it is going to be an awesome DIY. Can’t wait to see the end result. The gray or blue will look good (but I love blue!).

  7. Both paint colors look great. I’ve been on a gray kick so that’ll probably be my vote. Good luck!

  8. Denise says:

I am loving the sneak of the headboard! So very cool! I’m a navy lover myself but I’m sure either would look great. Can’t wait to see more! Good luck this week!

  9. That headboard is going to be amazing! I cant wait to see it all come together!

OOOOHHHHH that is going to be soooo good!
