Super Simple Mother’s Day Brunch…but make it Pretty!

Hi friends! Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and if you’re like me, you want to celebrate the amazing women in your life without spending the entire morning stuck in the kitchen. Sometimes it feels like a “proper” brunch requires hours of prep, but I’m here to tell you that you can host a stunning, Pinterest-worthy spread with minimal effort.

This year, I headed to Aldi to see if I could pull off a high-end look on a budget. Spoiler alert: It was a total success! By leaning into pre-made components and focusing on beautiful presentation, I was able to enjoy the morning just as much as the guests did. Here is exactly how I put together this super simple (and very pretty) Mother’s Day brunch.

Effortless Food-Using Premade Components

The secret to a “minimal effort” brunch is knowing what to buy vs. what to make. For this spread, I let the grocery store do the heavy lifting. I focused on items that required little to no cooking, just pretty plating.

Savory Bites & Salads-

I served Bacon Egg Bites and Potato Bites that only needed a quick warm-up in the oven. To keep things fresh, I grabbed a pre-made Mediterranean salad mix—the colors are gorgeous and once I added my own vinegrette dressing tasted like it came from a bistro.

Aldi’s made everything so easy! This is the Sweet Kale Chopped Salad kit with Homemade Vinegrette dressing.

I also put together a bread basket with muffins, crossiants and bagels served alongside a Hot Honey Cream Cheese. This is simple to pull together. Simply add hot honey and sprinkle red pepper flakes to taste over the cream cheese and suddenly it’s fancy (trust me on this, it’s a total crowd-pleaser!).

For a light, healthy crunch, I also added hummus and crudités to the table.

Fruit Kabobs:

Instead of a standard fruit bowl, I out the fresh fruit onto skewers. It makes the fruit look intentional and upscale, plus it’s much easier for guests to grab-and-go while they mingle.

Charcuterie Cups: Sweet and Savory:

If you follow me, you know I love a good cheese board, but Charcuterie Cups are my new obsession for hosting. They are so easy to serve, and look incredibly chic.

The Savory Cups:

For the savory version, I layered in various cheeses, crackers, folds of prosciutto, olives, and tiny pickles. The finishing touch? A sprig of fresh rosemary tucked into the side. It smells yummy and adds that “chef’s kiss” moment.

The Sweet Cup (at the Coffee Station):

Who says charcuterie is just for meat? I created sweet versions filled with assorted cookiesand chocolates.

I paired these with a mini variety cheesecake platter, which offered something for every sweet tooth without me having to bake a single thing.

The “Momosa” & Cocktail Bar:

With our crowd a brunch without a cocktail is just a breakfast! I set up a simple station with options for everyone.

  • Mango & Grapefruit Mimosas: I used sparkling wine and added a sugared rim to the glasses for that extra sparkle.
  • Pink Passion Tea: For a non-alcoholic (or mixer) option, this tea is naturally stunning on the table and tastes like springtime.

Setting the Mood with Pretty Florals:

The table setting is where you can really let your personality shine. I went for a “natural elegance” vibe. I used a simple white tablecloth as my base to let the colors of the food and flowers pop, layered with woven placemats for a bit of organic texture.

The real stars were the scalloped napkins. I tucked sprigs of delphinium into them and scattered more petals around the table. Delphiniums were my mother’s favorite, so including them felt like a beautiful, subtle tribute to her.

Pro-Tip & Party Favor: I used pink potted roses as my centerpiece. Not only did they look lovely during the meal, but at the end of the brunch, each mom got to take a pot home as her gift! It’s a centerpiece and a party favor in one.

Hosting doesn’t have to be stressful to be special. Buying premade and adding the little details—like those rosemary sprigs or the sentimental delphiniums—helps create memories that lasts much longer than the meal itself.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing women out there!

If you are still looking for a gift for that special mom in your life. I have rounded up some of my favorite things I am gifting this year.

Until next time,

-Libbie
