8 projects you can do with a can of paint

Hello Friends!

I believe in the power of paint. Whether it’s leftover paint from a project or a new favorite color, I just have to have – I’m looking at you here, Hale Navy. Paint is a relatively inexpensive way to impact your spaces.

Today I’ve rounded up a few projects that show the power of paint in big and small ways.

8 Easy DIY paint projects

First up is this ingenious DIY wall decal (she used spray paint) from my friend Rebecca at Hello Central Avenue I think it’s a great way to add dimension to a room and perfect for someone renting too!

This painting project had me at buffalo plaid. It’s one of my favorite patterns, and I loved how it turned out in Sherry’s from the Savvy Apron laundry room. If we are going to spend so much time doing laundry, let’s make the space pretty! You can see for yourself in this transformation she certainly accomplished that.

Megan from Two Feet First tackled painting her concrete floor. I love how fresh and clean a can of paint and a weekend can make a basement floor feel. I saved this for later because our basement floor could certainly use a refresh.

I’m a huge fan of chalk paint. It’s perfect for the beginning DIYer as chalk paint is easy to apply and very forgiving. Here Kippi from Kippi at Home adds a lovely boho feel to a thrift store find for the win!

Lindsey at Repurpose and Upcycle found some cane back dining chairs (cane furniture is trending now) and used a spray gun to freshen them up. They turned out beautifully.

Lia took on a painting project that I have wondered about for years. She painted an upholstered chair over on her blog at Southern Yankee DIY I like that she shares what NOT to do, and I have to say I LOVE the color she chose.

I LOVE a dark interior door. Several of my own interior doors are painted dark. For me, it adds a finished feel to a space. I did all the interior doors in our tiny ranch house and my interior front door at the lake house, and I couldn’t be happier. Here Martina from The Lived-in Look paints her bathroom door dark, and I love how it elevates the room.

Lastly, I am sharing how I painted our front door quickly and what an updated feel it gave to our curb appeal. I love the pop of blue (which is my happy color).
