Hello! I’m excited to be back today for another Pinterest Challenge!
This month’s theme, Thanksgiving Centerpiece, was a joy to work on, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Since I’m hosting a Friendsgiving Brunch this year instead of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner (which will be at my daughter’s home), I was really looking forward to having fun creating a festive tablescape.
So let’s take a peek at how I created a simple DIY Friendsgiving Tablescape with Pumpkins!

I should probably explain the Pinterest Challenge in case you’re new! (It’s hosted by the lovely Cindy at Country Road 407) Each month, my blogging friends and I all start with the same inspiration photo and transform the look to work in our own homes. This month’s inspiration picture is from Deborah at Hip and Humble Style.
If you’re visiting today from The Ponds Farmhouse and just finished admiring my friend Rachel’s lovely layered centerpiece, a very warm welcome to you! I hope you’ll stick around, explore the rest of the blog, and be sure to follow me so you don’t miss any more of my holiday decorating and DIY inspiration! This season is going to be so much fun!

When I looked at Deborah’s inspiration image, I was immediately drawn to the natural elements she used—especially the acorns, the wood platter, and, of course, that amazing pumpkin! My Friendsgiving Brunch is with a group of friends who are avid gardeners, so a centerpiece with a natural theme feels absolutely perfect for this festive gathering.

I loved how the inspiration picture, with the pumpkin surrounded by acorns, so that was my starting point. I wanted my centerpiece to have that same organic feel but be less rustic, leaning more toward a “garden” theme, so I chose to use dried flowers and moss.

For the base that the pumpkin sits on, I used two 10-inch grapevine wreaths that I wired together with florist wire (and a few drops of hot glue for extra stability). Then, I began gluing the moss and dried flowers onto the wreath. Once I had the moss and the Nigella (the smaller purple flowers) in place, I set the pumpkin on top of the wreath and added the dried peonies. Easy, right?

For the final touch, I added the gold ribbon, tied in a pretty bow, to the pumpkin stem.

I wanted my guests to have something special to take home with them after our Friendsgiving Brunch (besides lots of leftovers!), so I decided on Mini Pumpkins with dried flowers for the place cards to keep the theme cohesive with the centerpiece.

They were easy to assemble and turned out so pretty! Using my glue gun, I simply attached moss and dried flowers to the stems of the pumpkins. I finished them off by adding a small name tag for each of my guests.

For a little extra ambiance, I created these mossy votive holders. I simply filled the glass votives with dry foam, then used my hot glue gun to attach the moss all around the foam base and let them dry completely.

Once they were dry, I added the skinny candles, and I just love the look! A quick safety note: while the skinny candles won’t burn the moss, they do melt fast, so please never leave them unattended while lit!

I had so much fun creating this Simple DIY Friendsgiving Tablescape! I hope this project inspires you as you prepare for your own fall gatherings.
Now that you’ve seen my take on the challenge, be sure to head over and see the beautiful centerpiece my friend Wendy from WM Design House has created next! Once you’re finished there, take a moment to check out the rest of the amazing Pinterest Challenge Centerpieces from all my blogging friends!
