Welcome! It’s hard to believe Fall is rapidly approaching, but here we are! It’s my favorite season, although I usually have to be dragged into it (I live on a Lake in Michigan, and our summers are spectacular). Still, once the calendar turns to September, I get excited and start gradually bringing out the sweaters and Fall decor. Today, I am going to share a home tour featuring Fall decor at the Cottage.
Fall also means one of my favorite blog posts of the year. My friend Kelly from The Tattered Pew gets a group of blogging friends together for the Bloggers Best Home Tours. If you are looking for Fall Inspiration, you are in for a treat today! If you are visiting from my neighbor across the big lake, Kristin, at White Arrows Home a big welcome! I love Kristin’s beautiful home and her store as well!
Are you ready to see some Fall decor at the Cottage? Grab a blanket (or, if it’s still hot where you are, a glass of Iced tea) and get cozy.

We are touring The Little Green Cottage we recently renovated to become a Short-term Rental, and she is small. 600 square feet small. So when I added Fall touches for the season, I went with a light hand and many neutrals. In the bookcase, I added a seed pod from Terrain that I fell in love with and a basket made from vetiver roots. You can see that texture is my love language.
The Vetiver Root smells delightful.
I am a plant mama, and this season is no different. In the living area, I wanted to add more green (my favorite color) and use the fireplace for something other than a fire (I can’t have rookies lighting fires on vacation), so I filled the fireplace with live plants and battery-operated candles. The candles create a beautiful glow, and there is enough light in the room that the plants are thriving.
I love the texture and shape of these wicker chairs from Target.
I don’t usually bring out the pumpkins until later in the season, but these felt soft and neutral, and I love the way the texture plays against the brick.
The color palette at the Cottage is blues, greens, and pinks mixed with natural woods, so I didn’t want to bring in typical saturated colors of Fall, so I kept everything soft and neutral throughout. Here is the tiny Murphy Dining table set minimally so that it feels inviting and not cluttered.
I LOVE how the Beaker Test Tube vases look with dried flowers (they are usually holding plant leaves that I propagate).
Don’t forget the fresh flowers. It’s the most consistent thing I do when decorating for any season. I change the type of flowers I have in my home. Here, I added a large bunch of flowers in Fall colors to a moss wire vase in the entryway.
A Basket of Asters in the entryway.
Sunflowers in the Primary bedroom makes the space feel cozy.
Another small vase of flowers is in the guest room.
And lastly, something simple in the bathroom.
That is it for me! I hope that you have enjoyed my Fall decor at the Cottage. Please make sure you stop by Cindy’s from Country Road 407 for some beautiful Fall Farmhouse inspiration, and for even more Fall vibes, check out the rest of the bloggers on the tour:
Happy Fall, Libbie
