Popping in today to share a couple of quick and easy DIY ornaments. I love all things botanical, so I wanted to try my hand at making these. These dried-flower Christmas ornaments turned out so pretty I think I will make more soon.

I made two types of dried flower ornaments. Some are in glass and another set is a bit more rustic. Let’s start with the glass ornaments.

DIY Glass Ornaments with dried Flowers

This is such an easy DIY!

Materials Needed:

• Glass Ornaments
• Moss
• Dried Flowers: I used these, and these
• Ribbon
• Rub and Buff
• Paint Brush
• Skewer or long tweezers

I chose these pretty teardrop-shaped glass ornaments, round ones would work too.

I am using little white Rhodanthe Daisies and some rust Bunny Tails with a touch of moss. You can use anything that will fit into the top of your ornament. These brown bunny tails were leftover from a Fall project.

While working, I found a glass to hold the ornament and began adding the dried florals and moss.

I used a skewer to push the flowers into the glass ornaments gently. Work slowly, and if your flowers shed some pieces turn the ornament upside down and gently shake it out. Once I was happy with the placement and amount of flowers I added, I painted the ornament caps with some rub and buff I had on hand leftover from a previous project.

I was looking for a minimal modern feel with these, so I didn’t add much.

How easy is this??

Next, I tied a gold velvet ribbon, and they were ready to hang.

Dried Flower Ornaments-Rustic Version

This next set of DIY Christmas Ornaments is also easy to make.

Materials Needed:

• Grapevine
• Glue Gun
• Moss (I used this and this)
• Anise
• Dried Flowers (I used these and these)
• Ribbon
• Twine
• Floral wire

The first step was to make little wreaths from the twine. I cut my grapevine to the size I wanted and wrapped them in floral wire to hold the circle shape.

Next, begin adding moss and dried flowers, and secure them with hot glue. Be careful with your fingers! 🙂 I used a skewer to hold the flowers and let the hot glue dry for a second or two.

I used whatever combinations of dried flowers I liked together and also added some star of anise (which smells amazing). The little stars look Christmasy to me.

If your moss gets out of control, just give it a little trim. Or leave it wild. The beauty of DIY means you make it how you like it!

Once completed, add ribbon or twine to hang.
