A Fall Tour of our Apartment Renovation

Hey friends! I am so excited to share our latest apartment renovation, which is finally complete! If you’ve been following along with our journey, you know this project has taken FOREVER, but I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. This space will be a mid-term rental, and as I put the finishing touches on the staging, I realized I was ready to lean into a cozy Fall vibe. With naturally warm, earthy tones built into the permanent design, autumn will truly be this home’s season. Come on in and take a Fall tour of our newly renovated apartment!

Wallpapers, Wood Beams, and Cozy Seating

When we started renovating this house (divided into two separate apartments; see the first one here), we wanted to keep as much character as possible. We installed a gorgeous accent wall mural from Love Vs. Design, which adds instant texture and character to the walls.

To separate the spaces without closing them off, my hubby built and installed a rich custom wood beam around the doorway transition. It added architectural weight and warmth and anchors the whole room!

For the dining area and nook, we chose a camel-toned sofa dining bench from Walmart. It blends comfort and is perfect for additional seating in a rental; as a bonus, it gave me the perfect base to layer on seasonal warmth. I added a pretty floral-embroidered pillow to bring on the fall vibes.

Facebook Marketplace Finds Meets Affordable Fall Style

My favorite piece in this room is an oversized, patinated copper mirror from Crate and Barrel that I found on Facebook Marketplace—its warm metallic frame adds the perfect amount of warmth for Fall. Copper is one of my favorite metals, and I am happy to see that it is experiencing such a resurgence.

While decorating my entry table using the mirror as an anchor, I realized how much of my decor came straight from Walmart’s new Fall line. I buy a lot of everyday basics for our furnished rentals from Walmart: towels, kitchen items, and such. But this time, their seasonal collection blew me away! Candles, ceramics, rechargeable lamps- they were all so pretty! I paired the cute accent lighting and delicious-smelling candles with a few vintage accessories to pull my palette together. Another thing I love in this space combines a few of my favorite things: plants and wicker. The wall planters are also from Walmart. I stained the baskets darker than the original planters and love the texture they added.

Apartment Kitchen Details for Fall

For the kitchen renovation, we painted some cabinets a warm sage green and added a beadboard backsplash and butcher-block countertops for a cottage vibe. Instead of upper cabinets on the far wall, we added warm wood open shelving to keep the space feeling open, airy, and practical for rental guests.

I know it might feel a little too early to go all in on pumpkin overload, but I couldn’t resist including just one subtle nod to the season. I tucked a pretty ceramic pumpkin planter inside a swan cloche that may become my favorite piece!

The swan fits the home’s cottage vibe, and I may have to pick up another one for the lake house.

That’s it for my Fall tour of our Apartment rental. Thank you so much for stopping by to tour, and don’t forget to check out all my friends’ fall inspiration.

What an amazing apartment! I love the colors. Just walking in will feel like getting a big hug. And the papers make such a huge difference! The beam, the seating and decor… It’s all fantabulous, Libbie! So glad we were able to have a peek inside.

Thanks so much for the peek inside your new rental. The color palate is lovely with the neutral browns and splashes of green color. Nice to see the use of wallpaper in a rental space. Adding the beam was a great touch to add a natural element to the space.
