Craft Vodka, Fresh Basil plants, Fresh Lemons, Sugar for Basil-Blueberry Lemonade Vodka

Basil Blueberry Lemonade Vodka

Perfect End of Summer Cocktail

Everyone I know is moving on to Fall, but it’s so hot and humid here this week. I will take this last week of August to share a favorite summertime drink.

Basil Blueberry Lemonade Vodka.

It’s refreshing, which is a plus, and it gives me something to do with all those blueberries I picked recently!

For some reason, when I think of Vodka, it feels like more of a summertime spirit.

Craft Vodka, Basil. Fresh Blueberries, Lemons, sparkling water, and sugar

Ingredients

  • 1.5-2 oz vodka
  • 1.5 oz basil blueberry simple syrup
  • 1.5 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 oz sparkling water
  • Ice
  • Blueberries, fresh basil, lemon slices to garnish

Directions

Mix Vodka, blueberry basil syrup, lemon juice, and sparkling water in a cocktail shaker.

Shake well, then add ice and shake again.

Then, pour into pretty glasses and garnish.

Basil Blueberry Simple Syrup

You can buy a blueberry simple syrup, but it’s easy to make your own, and I love the addition of basil.

Basil Blueberry Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil.

Then stir in blueberries and basil- the blueberries will begin to pop open.

Add sugar.

Simmer for five minutes -stir frequently.

Strain with a fine mesh colander and let cool.

Cover and store leftover syrup in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Oh, me too!!

And although I have very basic garnish tools, I love them!

Here is what I use.

This set of citrus peelers.

And this Channel knife.

Fresh ingredients make this so refreshing!

Trust me; I will be enjoying this cocktail until the first frost!

If you need me this weekend, you can find me on the porch with a book (this is next on my list) and a Basil Blueberry Lemonade Vodka.

The Basil Blueberry Lemonade is pretty garnished.

  14. Hi Libbie,
This sounds and looks very refreshing! I had a basil martini at the beach and that was so good, the added ingredients here with the blueberries would be a tasty treat! I pinned it for future reference! It isnt Fall here either, some leaves dropping but still 80s.
