I can’t believe it’s finally here! It is reveal day for our small deck refresh with the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge. I am thrilled and excited to share our refreshed outdoor space with you. We LOVE how this one turned out!

This deck refresh was so necessary for our Airbnb. We completed the house last year during the Spring 2020 One Room Challenge, and business has exceeded our wildest expectations. The only space that wasn’t quite up to par was the outdoor space. To be honest, it was tired and dirty, with several minor repairs needed on the siding, trim, door, and porch. We knew we needed to roll up our sleeves and refresh this small deck.

Fast forward to today………our guests are LOVING the space now.

The blue door (Sherwin Williams Salty Dog) really pops against the cedar shake siding. Once I saw it completed, I knew we needed to add it to the porch’s ceiling, which turned out to be one of my favorite details.

Our goal here was to create a space for guests to hang out after a long day at the beach. Therefore, we needed a comfortable space to seat at least six and allow for some outdoor fun! The Ajna living outdoor wicker furniture was the perfect solution. It provides plenty of seating, is beautiful, comfortable, and is weather-resistant! We also added outdoor rugs (From WellWoven) and accessories, bringing the colors from inside the house to the outdoors and giving a cohesive feel to the entire space.

The living wall and letterboard have been a great place for our guests to snap selfies and leave us messages. People have been so creative!

It’s turned into the perfect spot for an evening glass of wine and watching the sun go down.

It was also important to create a space for outdoor dining, and this dining set ended up being perfect as it expands to seat six.

It is a small space, but I think we made it as usable as possible, and most importantly, the outside now feels as pretty as the inside of the house.

Our guests have been using it for the last two weeks and have mentioned in their reviews how much they love it. For now, hubby and I are putting our feet up and celebrating another ORC wrap!
