Hello! Today I have a treat for you. Not only am I sharing my Summer decor updates at the cottage. But the exciting news is that I am sharing along with 25+ bloggers this week for the Bloggers Best Summer Tour. Whoop Whoop! If you are visiting from my friend Kristin at White Arrows home, a big warm welcome! Don’t you love Kristin’s warm woodsy home? A big thank you to Kelly at The Tattered Pew for organizing our tour! Make sure to stop by her beautiful home and see what she is sharing this summer.
Let’s jump in.
This cottage is located in Ludington, MI. It is sometimes a vacation rental and sometimes used for family overflow when our summer visitors become too much for our house to handle. It receives gorgeous sunlight and is decorated with blues and greens, giving a beachy vibe that honors its proximity to Lake Michigan.
Getting ready for summer in this home is all about adding small details. Lighter prints on pillows, plants, fresh flowers, and touches of pink are my favorites here.
I added the little wood side table to add a little warmth to the living area.
And this whimsical little planter on the window sill.
In the small dining area, we added a simple bouquet of fresh daisies, and my favorite new accessory is the mint green record player for playing vinyl albums again. Bring on the summer playlists!
Fresh Coast is a nickname for Lake Michigan.
Let’s head upstairs to the bedrooms. The cottage is over 100 years old and has three cozy bedrooms upstairs.
The largest bedroom is painted the prettiest blue. For the summer, I always use white bedding with pops of color and add some texture -for example, the wicker lamps from Target, as texture is my design love language.
The DIY moss wall art adds more texture.
And so many plants! 🙂
The white desk we added last summer allows a quiet space to check email.
Bedroom number two is my daughter’s favorite. She loves the cedar shake accent wall I installed a few summers ago.
Bedroom number three needed some love this summer, so I added the beaded curtain and a mirror for some instant summer!
You can’t forget to refresh your outdoor spaces when it comes to a cottage (that’s where most of our time is spent!). This year we are going with more color to bring the inside outdoors.
The living wall is a DIY from a few seasons ago, and I plant it every spring. Family and guests LOVE it.
So that is it for our Summer Cottage updates. Next up on tour is a favorite of mine, and I am delighted to share Anne and AnnMarie from Simply 2 Moms. Please go check them out. You are going to love their take on Patriotic decor for summer!
