Choosing outdoor rugs, pillows and throws…oh my! One Room Challenge week six

Here we are at week six of the Spring 2021 One Room Challenge. Hard to believe how quickly these six weeks have gone. Even crazier is that this would normally be the final week! EEK!! This time the challenge is eight weeks, and I am relieved. We can use the extra time as things have been shipping soooo slowly. I admit I’ve really enjoyed planning this Airbnb deck refresh as it is all about our guest’s comfort and enjoyment. I am excited to share the finished space with them. I am also using this time to refresh my own outdoor space at the lake, which will explain all the pillows I’ve ordered. 🙂 So here we go for week six!

First, you may want to catch up on past weeks:

Pillows, throws and soft goods are starting to arrive at the Airbnb!

Let’s get this party started!!! Shall we start with outdoor pillows? I chose green, orange, and yellow in various patterns and shapes, which will easily mix and match. The bonus to planning my outdoor space at the same time as the Airbnb is I can use the extras at my house. *This post contains affiliate links.

The rug I chose was gifted from Well Woven (A HUGE thank you to them!!), and I am going to just say once it arrived, I fell in love and planned everything else around it! Well Woven is my favorite rug company. They make online rug buying easy- which I love, they ship quickly, and their quality and pricing are fantastic. You can see a few of their other rugs I used here and here.

I ordered a few different throws to keep it cozy and for those chilly September nights in Northern Michigan.

And a few additional items for the dining area! Items are trickling in and I hope everything arrives in time for the photo shoot next week!

That is it for this week! Be sure to see what the Featured Designers and my fellow Guest Participants are up to this week, and as always, a HUGE thank you to the ORC team and its media sponsor, Better Homes, and Gardens, as I know I would never finish a room without this challenge!!

  9. Carol Karl says:

This looks wonderful. I’ve always struggled with the idea of outdoor rugs. Maybe it’s just because of where I live – it rains a lot and we also get a lot of wind. I could see myself having to either clean it every time I want to go outside and enjoy the space or bring it all in every time. When we are outdoors in the summer, we have to bring in all the cushions, etc after every use and I can’t imagine a rug being any different. Do you bring yours in when it rains?
