Hello! I am so excited to share today’s post with you. If you are a regular reader of the blog, you already know I am OBSESSED with Christmas trees (all things holiday-related, really!), but especially the trees. I’ve been a long-time fan of King of Christmas—I actually used their products years ago for visual merchandising, and a couple of years back, I reviewed their pre-lit Yorkshire Fir (you can read that review here).
This season, King of Christmas gifted me a tree in exchange for an honest review, and I knew exactly what look I wanted. A Fraser Fir is my absolute favorite fresh live Christmas tree, so I was eager to see how King of Christmas’s version stacked up against the real deal. I decided on the 9 ft Unlit King Noble Fir Tree (Full Version)—I wanted to go taller this year (taking advantage of our 14 ft ceilings at the lakehouse) while keeping assembly easy, and going unlit gave me the freedom to test out a specific set of lights I’ve been dying to try.
Here is my honest take on setting up, shaping, and lighting this 9 ft beauty! Spoiler alert: I LOVE it!

When a 9 ft tree arrives, setup can feel intimidating, but King of Christmas makes it very straightforward. The tree sections come carefully packed in storage bags (4 total), keeping everything contained right out of the box.
The metal stand went together in seconds; each hinged section drops into place smoothly. Even at 9 feet high, assembling the base and middle sections was quick and manageable. The top section goes on easily—though having a step ladder nearby definitely helps when you reach that 9-foot mark! From start to finish, assembling the structure took just minutes before moving on to the fluffing stage.

If you want an artificial tree to look like a lush, living tree, taking time to fluff is key—and King of Christmas provides some pretty snazzy protective gloves to make the job comfortable on your hands.

The realistic needle texture on this King Fraser Fir model gives it such an authentic look and feel. As you work section by section from the bottom up, spreading out each hinged branch and fanning out the tips, the tree fills out into a broad, dense silhouette. The branch construction is sturdy yet flexible, holding its shape naturally as you sculpt it. Once fully fluffed, the tree transforms into a lush, full, classic fir tree that rivals any real Fraser Fir I’ve brought home.

Because I chose the unlit version, I had total freedom to customize the lighting to match my exact vision for the room this year. I was really excited to try cluster string lights this season, as I love the warm glow they give a tree during the holidays. I knew that pairing cluster lights with a 9-foot tree was going to be absolutely stunning—and I was right!

The branches handled the weight of the cluster lights easily without drooping. Once plugged in, the tree completely transformed. The lights created a golden shimmer from top to bottom, and I adore the resulting glow! Going unlit took a bit of extra time and effort, but having full control over the light density on a tree this substantial was 100% worth it.

I couldn’t be happier with how this tree turned out. Once the cluster lights set the foundation with that magical glow, I brought my design vision to life with a “Warm Metallic” aesthetic—pairing mixed metals and a peace dove garland. I then added soft, frayed white ribbon bows for contrast and a touch of romance.

If you’ve been on the fence about upgrading to a 9-foot artificial tree or choosing an unlit model to customize your own lighting and decor, I can’t recommend King of Christmas enough. The quality, density, and effortless setup made it a dream to style.
Bring on the Holidays!
Until next time.
