It’s Spring in Michigan, which means it’s time to come out of hibernation and enjoy some outdoor living. It’s also time for the Bi-annual One Room Challenge. Do you see where I am going here?? That’s right, for my 7th One Room Challenge, I have chosen to makeover the small deck/living space at the Airbnb! Last Spring, we made over the entire first floor of the distressed house we had bought for the Spring 2020 ORC. Now it’s time to make the tired outdoor space to match the pretty inside.
The deck and outdoor area are small but need a lot of TLC. My goal aside from the repairs is to create separate seating and dining areas for six people (the max number of guests at the Airbnb). When we started renting the property, we cleaned it up and gathered a mishmash of furniture to get us through the Fall season. So this is where we are starting from.
Our To-Do list:
Power Wash the deck.
Remove the stone and figure out what to add to the shed.
Paint door
Add Window Trim
Fix siding on house
Repair porch overhang
Paint porch
Flower Wall
Landscape
Flower boxes??
Furniture
Accessories
Want to see what the house looked like last year? We have cleaned it up quite a bit from where we started.
This year the One Room Challenge runs for eight weeks. It sounds like a lot of time, but we are working around guests, which should add to the fun!

I hope you’ll follow along!
I’d like to take a moment to thank my sponsors for this round of the One Room Challenge.

You have done an amazing job with this makeover. It is hard work but it always pays off in the end. Well done.
It is going to look amazing!
Such a beautiful design plan! So excited that it’s finally patio season here in Ohio too!
