It’s Friday and time for another cocktail recipe celebrating Sippin Pretty Friyay!
Today I am featuring a Spicy Garden Paloma.
It’s the perfect cocktail for these dog days of summer (what does that even mean?!?).
I’ll be looking that saying up later.
But first, today’s cocktail features spicy jalapeno pepper for kick and grapefruit for a refreshing finish and lime juice for a tartness that rounds everything out.
Let’s get started.
2 oz tequila
1 oz fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
3/4 oz jalapeno-agave syrup (below)
1/2 oz lime juice
One dash of Celery Bitters
6 jalapenos, sliced
16 oz of water
16 oz of agave nectar
Add hot water to jalapenos and let steep for 3 minutes.
Pour in agave nectar and stir.
Strain.
Lastly, shake all ingredients and strain into Tom Collins glasses.
Top with a pinch of salt.
Add a dash or two of celery bitters to taste.
Garnish with jalapeno or lime wedge.
Ta da!
A Spicy Garden Paloma.
This is light and refreshing and perfect for cocktails on the porch.
Serves one.
That’s it!
I love the pretty pink color.
I am enjoying trying new cocktail recipes for Sippin Pretty Friyay, and this Spicy Paloma is a new favorite.
Plus, trying new cocktail recipes allows me to use all my fancy glasses.

Until next time my friends,

OOOh, Before you go, I have a few other favorite cocktails you may want to try!
It looks so pretty and spicy 🙂 I don’t drink alcohol do you think it would taste good without the alcohol? Or is there something I could use in place of the tequila?
Karin
Yes! Up the amount of sparkling water and it becomes light and refreshing with a kick!
This looks like the perfect spot to sip spicy garden palomas. Have a great week.
Hugs,
Kippi
That looks like it pack a punch; have to try it!
Sounds delicious.
Hot spicy drink? Maybe since I do like a good Bloody Mary. Looks delicious
Ha ha my 4 year old just recently asked me what dog days of summer is. I now need to Google it lol. Your recipe sounds so refreshing.
I googled it! LOL,
When Sirius would appear in the sky just before the sun, near the end of July, that marked the beginning of the very hottest days of the year. The Romans referred to this period as “dies caniculares” or “days of the dog star,” which was eventually translated as just “dog days.”
Sounds pretty good… and I love your glasses! Fancy, indeed.
Looks like an amazing drink but I gotta tell ya, that fun planter with the crazy hair steals the show!! Love it!!
I love a good cocktail especially on a hot summer weekend. This sounds delicious.
This sounds really delicious. 😋😋
Such a pretty drink. I love making and enjoying beautiful cocktails!
Oh me too! They feel so festive.
I’ve never heard of this cocktail and I look forward to trying it.
Wow, I never heard of a cocktail with jalapeno peppers! It sounds interesting and looks great – think I might need to try it!
This sounds so goo. I can’t have grapefruit juice because of medicine I’m on but my family may enjoy this drink.
I have similar glasses too!
Oh I am making this tonight! I have grapefruit juice and jalapeno in my garden!

I’m jealous of the fresh jalapenos! Yum!
Libbie! Can we be best friends?! I’m all about Friday cocktails too … and this one is next level. Cheers! xo
Consider us BESTIES! 🙂
It sounds like it kicks quite a punch. My hubby will it
Perfect for a summer Friday!
Now this sounds like a drink to try for sure this week. But please clarify you use fresh grapefruit not the Ocean Spray in the picture? And behind the silver Patron bottle what is the other Patron item? Are you using that too? And one serving over ice fill those particular glasses? or is that 2 servings? Thanks for the help.
Looks like I did something wrong with my first message. This looks like a great drink to share with friends. Do you use the Ocean Spray grapefruit juice with fresh or substitute? I did a search to learn about the other bottle of Patron and now to find it. Do you use it in this particular drink? Thanks.
Hello Dee!
You can use either fresh or the Ocean Spray (I prefer the fresh and the drink is a little more tart). The baby bottle of Patron is a regular bottle of their silver tequila. The larger bottle is infused with orange. I use whichever is on hand because the grapefruit has such a strong flavor you can’t really taste the orange infusion. Enjoy! We actually had them this evening with guests and they both said it felt like the perfect summer cocktail. 🙂
This looks awesome!! I love that plant and planter!! I’d be honored if you hopped on over to our “What’s for Dinner” party and shared some of your delicious recipes!
