My youngest daughter turned thirty last week!
As hard as it was to believe (where the heck did all that time go?!?!), thinking of the perfect 30th gift idea was even harder.
We are big celebrators of birthdays in my family.
I took my oldest daughter to Ireland the summer she turned thirty.
It’s kinda hard to top that.
My youngest daughter is turning 30 this year but has an 11-month-old son, so travel just isn’t in the cards right now.
But I still wanted to do something special to celebrate the amazing person she is.
So I called her sister, and we decided to make a gift basket with 30 gifts.
We wanted small gifts that she would like, but that also would mean something to her.
So we decided to add photo cards. I went through piles of photos, scanned them, and printed them off at my local Walmart.
I printed out 30 photos from all stages of her life.
We (here, I really mean my daughter) wrote sweet, affirmational, funny messages tying them to whatever the gift was.
There were a lot of puns. Alex is an expert at puns. 🙂
We tried to be very thoughtful of the types of things she likes.
The gifts included gift cards to her favorite stores, home decor items (she and her husband just moved into a new home), books, hair accessories, wine, candles, cozy socks in her favorite color, and even a few of her favorite childhood treats (including a box of pop-tarts).
She loved opening all the gifts!
I loved that it was a trip down memory lane.
Simply perfect for a daughter’s 30th birthday celebration.
BTW, she saved all of the notes.

I can’t wait to see what her 30’s bring her!
Would you like to peek at some of the items I included?
Until next time,

Libbie, I love this! I did 16 gifts for my daughter’s sweet 16, and then again at 21 with 21 gifts. I LOVE adding the photos, what a way to make it even more meaningful and memorable, as if she’d need any help remembering such a special birthday, and the sweetness in which you made it so special!!! Love, love, love!!!
I love this idea! I am truly a heart person where thought and capturing something special is in play. You really did an amazing job with it all! I love the puns…those need to be added to birthday gifts soon!
