Happy almost Spring! Today I am popping in to show a quick bedroom refresh for Spring. After a long Michigan winter, our bedrooms here at the Lakehouse and our Short-term rental properties feel like they need a bit of a glow-up. Today I am working at our Pentwater rental.

Nothing feels fresher than a clean room! It also helps to have a clean start when refreshing your decor. So I pulled everything out, swept and mopped the floors, and wiped down the baseboards.
A Spring refresh is a perfect time to check the condition of your pillows (and mattress pads). Our pillows were only 18 months old, but they were getting lumpy, so I took the opportunity to replace them with these Whisper pillows by Therapedic. Because this is an Airbnb, I offer two different styles. A Memory Flex and a Cooling Foam pillow. I found both of these pillows at our local Big Lots.
The before pic of this room had a blue velvet comforter that I am switching out for a lightweight, crisp white quilt, along with a bright coral quilt folded at the bottom. Perfect for Spring!
Here I added a large plant (in the cutest basket ever). Many studies have shown that adding plants to a bedroom lowers stress and anxiety, improves your mood, and reduces fatigue, all excellent reasons for adding them to your spaces. I love using plants in my home anytime, but a Spring refresh is the perfect time to add plants.
I also added the terrarium (a DIY I made a few weeks ago) to the nightstand. I like the pretty pop of color. Total side note: Have you read Little Fires Everywhere? I couldn’t put it down. I think I read it in two days!
Do you change out Art seasonaly? I like to refresh things so I decided to go for a lighter print in this room. My favorite places to source Wall Art are in this post.
Spring is the time to lighten things up but don’t forget to keep texture in your room. I added a white knit throw in the rattan chair and of course the jute rug is lovely and brings in lots of texture.
