Hello friends! Do you love seeing how other people decorate their homes? Me too! Today, I have a summer treat for you. Today some of my blogging besties and I are sharing an early summer decor tour. For my part of the tour, I am sharing our Summer Cottage that we just finished last week!
If you are visiting from Regina’s home tour, A warm welcome! Isn’t her home gorgeous? I’m so excited to see all the summer Inspiration. Michigan winters are long, and it just makes my heart happy to decorate for the warmer days. Are you ready to see the Summer Cottage tour? Let’s get started.
Let’s begin in the living room.
The wall mural sort of sets the tone of the cottage, and I based on the colors in the house on the pinky peach, green, and blues found in the wall mural from Photowall. As a side note: I love how easy it is to work with Photowall. You can truly design a custom accent wall for your space. We used another wall mural from them in our basement remodel last year.
The light this room gets in the summer makes my heart happy.
My favorite thing for a summer vibe is switching out your textures.
Here I am using a gauze summer blanket that is lightweight and perfect in case of a chilly evening.
Another way to change up a season is with fresh greens and florals.
This is such an inexpensive way to switch things up.
Here the flowers just shout summer!
In one of the bedrooms at the cottage, I am using florals as a valance, and it’s softer and yet still expresses a summer cottage vibe.
I love them so much!
The floral valance was an easy DIY, and when it’s not filled with fresh flowers, I put plant cuttings in the vases.
Here is a shot of the entire bedroom.
Greenery is FREE for me in the summer, so I add touches of it all over the house.
So I always seem to be talking textures and florals.
While I am guilty of that, I am also a fan of lightening up the colors a bit when decorating for Summer.
I change out all of our bedding this time of year for lightweight quilts with lighter colors for summer.
The kitchen in the cottage lends itself to a summer vibe with the blue and white striped tiles and white concrete countertops. I think the only thing I added to the kitchen is the pretty scalloped rug from Amazon.
I will forever love the open shelving I found from Iron Abode.
And another summer favorite… touches of pink here and there.
Because who doesn’t love pink?!?!
That is it for today’s Summer Cottage tour!
Next up on tour is Patricia at Patricia Justice Designs LLC. You are going to love her style!
