Guest Room with wall mural and bedding

Getting your guest room ready for guests.

Tips for getting ready for hosting guests.

Today I am sharing my tips for getting your guest room ready for those holiday guests.

I don’t know about you but I am thrilled to be hosting friends and family again and I want them to be as comfortable as possible.

Think about what a lovely boutique hotel offers their guests and that is the feeling I am striving for.

Tip # One declutter your space.

Move as much of your clutter out as possible.

You want you guests to feel as if the space is theirs during the visit.

Tip # Two- Comfortable bed

As a guest, and as an Airbnb host I cannot stress this enough!

Make sure to provide your guests with everything they need for a good nights sleep.

I recommend starting with a decent mattress and building from there.

A gel mattress topper like the SleepRX gel mattress cover is perfect for adding an extra layer of comfort to your mattress.

Memory Foam

If your guest room mattress is amazing kudos to you!

Okay, raise your hand if you are a “hot sleeper” <insert crazy hand wave here>.

Since you still need a mattress pad (it helps keep them clean) one like this one from Thearpedic, Sleep RX keeps your guests cool and comfy.

Tip # Three- Provide a variety of pillows for your guests

This tip is one near and dear to me because I am someone who travels with her own pillow.

My pillow language is a cooling memory foam with support and this Gel Memory Foam Pillow is my current go to.

Pillow preferences are different for everyone I also make sure I provide a fluffier option like this Down Alternative pillow from Thearpedic.

Tip # Four give them space to put their luggage

I love a luggage rack but you could also clear space in the closet.

A few empty drawers is nice too!

Tip # five- Leave water in the room

This is so your guests don’t have to wander in the middle of the night.

Tip # six- things they may have forgotten

I like to provide a basket of items they may have forgotten I include:

  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrush
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Tampons
  • Razor
  • Lotion

Tip # Seven-reading material

I love to leave local magazines for my guests-bonus if they have local things to do.

Pretty magazines to thumb through as they fall asleep.

Books- I love to recommend books so I make sure to leave a few on the nightstands.

Until next time,
