Hello! Well, we’ve made it to the halfway mark of the One Room Challenge. YIKES! We still have so much to do, so I will just celebrate our ALMOST tiled entryway for a moment. To recap our previous weeks catch up here:
WEEK ONE/ WEEK TWO/ WEEK THREE
On to this week. We worked on tiling the entryway.
I knew from the beginning we wanted the entryway tiled in penny tile. It fits the age of the home, and we have black and white penny tile in the upstairs bathroom. I also knew I wanted to provide an Instagram moment for the house since it will be an Airbnb. Something similar to these.
I will post a tutorial after the One Room Challenge. But I am so excited about how it turned out.
Laying out the words. The house is two blocks from Lake Michigan, which locals call the “Fresh Coast” or sometimes the “Third Coast.” So I played around with that until I settled on….
So, as I said, we are ALMOST finished. We still need to grout! But I am truly excited about how it turned out. I am not going to lie; it was TIME-CONSUMING. But well worth it. Next week we are working on trim and paint!
Be sure to stop by and check out how the Featured Designers are faring and my fellow Guest Participants at the halfway point = things are coming together!
-Until next time,
I love this tile work so much, I have been thinking about penny tiles for our basement bathroom and this is such a selling point.
This is SO cool! Love that it’s in the entryway – what a fun way for guests to start their stay!
